THE SCOUT OATH
On my honor, I will do my best
to do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
to help other people at all times;
to keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake and morally straight.

TROOP 163
Where ADVENTURE meets Skills for Life
History. We are an active Scouts BSA Troop sponsored by the Closter Lions Club, founded in 2020. Since its founding, our young women have learned incredible life skills and gone on amazing adventures. Let them teach you how to build a fire and cook delicious meals, build shelters, handle knives and axes, canoe the Adirondacks, and more!
Leadership. As in all of Scouts BSA, our Troop is Scout-run and adult supported. We are committed to helping out scouts personally grow and develop into responsible, participating citizens and strong leaders.
Activities. We enjoy spending time together, most especially in the great outdoors. We have taken hikes locally as well as at Floodwood Mountain near Lake Placid. We have gone overnight camping in the Adirondacks, the Catskills, beaches of Long Island as well as a week long canoe trek in the Adirondacks. The girls of the troop have won 1st place at a Pioneering Camporee and the Klondike Derby. They have earned many merit badges, learning while having fun doing activities like seining along the beaches of Sandy Hook, building and launching rockets, and horseback riding.
Join Us. If you are interested in becoming a member of Troop 163, please come to one of our Troop meetings or contact our Scoutmaster, Erica Song, at clostertroop163@gmail.com.
